Rogai's canvases incorporate delineated areas of color with particular sharpness. Angles and perspective form dimensional shifts and imposing portals. His work draws on the tradition of hard-edge minimalism / post-painterly abstraction. Opaque layers within the work form warm and organic connections between lines (Ex: Untitled 1979a represents ties of intersecting familial lines).

Born and Raised in the East New York neighborhood of Brooklyn, Rogai attended The School Of Visual Arts, Brooklyn College, and holds an MFA in Painting and Sculpture from Pratt Institute. He has fulfilled a 36 year art education career in Sullivan County, NY while raising his family along the Upper Delaware in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

He enjoys time with his wife, three children and four grandchildren. He paints when the spirit moves him, in his words "to experience the essence of the beyond in the physical form". He rarely misses a televised NY Yankee game, and enjoys building hand-made model sailing ships.

"Part of what I'm trying to do is to get people to slow down and be at peace in this place, even for a few minutes."
